About Mission 34

Mission 34 is a nonprofit organization that provides free baseball and softball lessons while spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a great space to share our passion for sports and faith, and to let our supporters know more about our mission. You can use this space to learn about our dedicated team and the impact of our services on the community. Let us tell you the story of how Mission 34 came to be and what sets us apart in our mission to make a difference.

We believe in the power of sports and faith to transform lives. Through our programs, we aim to empower individuals, build character and make a positive impact on the world.

Our Mission

Our Story

Mission 34 was started because Shanon Hyche felt God was calling him to preach. He later figured out that you can minister anywhere, even in the batting cage. The name Mission 34 comes from this being a mission field and the number 34 was his daughter's softball number.

Our Mission

At Mission 34, our mission is to provide free baseball/softball hitting lessons and camps for youth in our area. We use a ball and a bat to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. We also strive to teach good life lessons, how to deal with the adversities of life to help prepare our youth for life after sports. We operate solely on donations.

Our Mission

Our Facility

Mission 34 now has a 4,800 square foot hitting facility located in Cordova, Alabama. We offer individual lessons as well as cage availability for teams. If you would like to reserve a cage, please book a time using our website!

Our Camps

Mission 34 offers free camps in the spring and fall when available. We hosted our first skills camp in the summer of 2024 with the help of Coach Angel Brown, head softball coach at Northwest Shoals Community College, and other college coaches. We will announce future dates on our social media accounts.
